Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.

Players can recycle six items at one time to gauge each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling an item scales with its rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to increase the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished by a number of means, including using upgrade components and upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. A lot of items can be reforged in order to increase their value.

Upgradeable items are available in the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. The main way to upgrade equipment is through the use of upgrade components which are components that can be slotted into equipment. Most equipment has slots that can be upgraded and some require a specific level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components provide specific bonuses while others give a general bonus.

There are many types of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. To upgrade an item, select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen. It will show the expected statistics after the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as Blocked if you don't have enough of or.

The amount of upgrade components needed for a given item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of an upgrade increases depending on the level of upgrade and rarity, but it can be reduced by a variety of methods, such as buying upgrades from a vendor or trading them with other players.

Most weapons can be upgraded using an upgrade to a prefix, such as an insignia or rune, and a lot of them are upgraded by an upgrade suffix. These upgrades change the name of the item to add an adjective, such as 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the shields and foci from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any kinds of mods at all.

Glyphs

Each glyph has a range of values that it can increase a stat's value in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This range is not the actual amount by which glyphs can improve the stat, but rather the maximum amount by which it is able to do so. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the quality and tier of the item you're in awe of it.

The majority of upgrade components added to items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a non-useful rune or glyph that hasn't yet been added to your gear, you can move it to a different piece gear by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

If you are looking to remove the glyph from an item, you will need to salvage it with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed within which it is placed but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its shards, therefore, it shouldn't be considered a loss.

When you take away an item after adding a glyph, the shards from that glyph will disappear. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to increase its value. For instance the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly rather than all at once. This is helpful for those who take lots of damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens are used to alter the affixes that are placed on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, such as mysterious boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player an affix randomly chosen and typically better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.

Rerolled items are not listed on the menu for upgrade options, however they are still able to be upgraded. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. Recycling an item adds small amount of points to its level gauge. This amount is determined by the rarity of the item and also its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable for recycling than lower-leveled ones.

In addition to reroll tokens players can also use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the traits of a weapon in an upgraded unit. Rerolls roll a percentage chance of a weapon's traits. If it scores higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower the weapon remains as is. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

Rerolling is a fantastic way to upgrade an item. However, players must be aware of the fact that the total ilvl will be reduced by the number that it took to reroll it to the final ilvl. This reduction effect is most effective on Diadems and ring items that don't have competing ilvl-raising options.

The system of rerolls has been criticised by players for being expensive and it's more reasonable to let players pay for it with money or food items that allows players to modify their builds without wasting time and effort. However the paid rerolls aren't something the developers want to implement at this point in the game's development. Instead, they're planning include a race change potion in the future.

Leveling

There are several ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade which boosts the value of an upgrade for any stat. The second option is to boost the impact of the upgrade, which boosts the healing or damage for the stat. Additionally, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. After this, the new item will retain its iLevel, but will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded item upgrades type.
