Costs
There are some costs associated with item upgrades. The first is the cost to perform the upgrade. This cost depends on the new level of the item and the amount of perks it will gain and is often expensive. Upgrades to higher levels (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) are costly.
The other is the cost of items needed to upgrade. The items used for upgrades are usually either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21+) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable by completing specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). These materials can be found in the inventory of an Upgrade Vendor.
