World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Each item upgrader mod comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a set amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its stats improve in value. The value is the sum of all of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive dependent on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is due to the fact that many perks need to be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It also serves as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is limited to an lower level). Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.

Using the item level can help players compare the strength of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a useful gauge of an item's worth and the amount of damage it's capable of causing. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor can be done by using the item level.

The level of the item can be checked by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the item upgrader kit's full description, including ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then entering /itemlevel into chat.

There are a few theories about how the calculation of an item's level is made. One theory states that the level of an item is determined by a formula that calculates the value of an item's stats actually are. It takes into consideration that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item. This can lead to an item's ilvl calculated, which is typically very close to Blizzards actual item level.

However, this is not the only factor that affects an item's ilvl, since the level of the area the item dropped in can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding an additional level to its crit rating or haste rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big component of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats of a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modifications that are in turn enhanced by the player's level.

The upgrades to an item can boost its stats. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. For instance, a gray or white item will only be upgraded once, while an item with rare levels will be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Affixes are another way to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes can do things like give the item additional damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or reducing the duration of cooldowns), or make the item unique by putting a special name to the item.

Presently, all affixes are able to be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by the arrows that circle. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items, which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other rerolling options.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can also choose which of the available stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However, all items will include at least one stat within the range, unless they are an item that is unique or a God Roll from a raid boss.

This is another thing that can be modified by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. However, as with the base equipment, this would have to be carried out on a per-item basis and the item compare interface would not display all the possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the chance of finding items, the properties that are spawned by loot and the intensity of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade their gear earlier in the game. This is particularly beneficial in early game runs since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade chances that increase with each level of the item. It is also possible to be increased by using anti-materials such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn by using the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to boost the Luck of the item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that deals damage by 5%. These items are available in the shops or made using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are a costly process and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their success rate or prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The probability of success can only be increased so much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item may influence the success of an upgrade. Every item level upgrade has an overall success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the inventory items, so enchantment glint and other effects could be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
