WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to
upgrade items their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in every major city, and is accessible anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader every few weeks.
The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players from
item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which displays an item's preview when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an
item level upgrade;
images.google.Co.il, is upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.
Many locations have upgraders for their items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players finish certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades must be acquired through several methods, which is both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading other items to that same item level will be less expensive, even in the event that they are part of an entirely different set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have a variety of choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the type of equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
The use of these currencies isn't too difficult, but the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, once an
item upgrading is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another important change is that crests only have one usage, so it's important to use them properly. For instance it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the
Best item upgrader gear you have available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
