Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item level upgrade; Additional Info, has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to level up weapons tools, armor, and other items. They are purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with the help of button, which will display an image of the item at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones.
